This guide will demonstrate how to remove the already downloaded Quickbooks updates that is forcing your desktop to update. I have had experiences in the pass whereby the update was being forced by quickbooks and once i clicked on install, it failed and it kept going into a forever loop. Here is how you can bypass that forceful update temporarily..
Close Quickbooks
Where you see 'Quickbooks version' below in the file path enter the version of your quickbooks that is giving the issue
Go to c:\programdata\intuit\Quickbooks Version\Components\
Then rename the folder DownloadQB the number where the ** could be 26 or something else. Add .old to the end if it doesn't already exist. example DownloadQB26.old
Relaunch Quickbooks and you would be good to go.
